We had a small contingency in Orange County for the Fall 2003 8-Ball Classic Regionals.  Just four players, and we managed to catch them all in action:

Even though we only had four entrants in a field of 52, one of them did manage to pull it off!  Mike Zabel will represent the South Coast in the 2004 8-Ball Classic Nationals!  Congratulations Mike!

Mike invited the runner-up on his board, Leslie Risinger from San Diego, to join him in this photo after her truly classy display of sportsmanship in the finals.  In the final game, Mike marked the pocket for the 8-Ball then changed his mind after looking over the shot.  He forgot to move his marker and sank the 8 in a pocket different than the one marked.  Leslie refused to take the game from him even though it meant Mike would qualify for Nationals - how's that for class?
