Posted - 10/31/2009 : 2:12:00 PM Ok, now that everyone has had their fun for a week, I went ahead and deleted the controversial threads related to a specific member who claimed (truthfully or not) that he was sandbagging.
I deleted the threads because of the abuse the guy was taking from everyone else. I left them up there for a week so he could see what kind of abuse he would get from everyone else.
I think a couple of valuable lessons were learned here. First, there is a stigma that comes with getting caught or admitting to cheating. It takes a very long time to repair your reputation afterwards.
Second, be careful with the games you play and the things you post on this message board. You may think you're anonymous, but I can probably figure out who you are. For those of you who got to read it, Spy's initial post was written in third person, as if he were a third party accusing a player of sandbagging. I edited the post (yes, I can do that too) to remove the name and make it first person. That was to let Spy know that I knew who he was, but apparently he didn't get the message.
If you want to post disparaging remarks anonymously, you better be prepared for the fallout when you are "outed". Bottom line, if it's not something you're prepared to take responsibility for, you better not post it.
