Posted - 11/04/2008 : 09:53:11 AM ok phil your probably gonna be mad at me for asking this as it will make more work for you for something only a few of us would want. but i was wondering if there is any way we can get more stats on ourselves. right now the only stats we have is matches in 8 or 9 played, won and lost. i would like to know a bit more if i could. for instance how many break and runs in each or on the breaks. racklesses, skunks, defences, 8 ball games won and lost. maybe even against each skill level. how i fare against each skill level. i realize some of this info maybe superfluous to most but i think it could help me advance my personal game and stratigize against other teams as well. too much?

Nope, they don't keep them by hand, we do. They record on-the-break and break-and-run totals differently than we do, which is why, if you ask, they can't tell you when you had them unless they pull out score sheets. That's also why we can't pull them out of the software.
Their pool stat calculator does nothing more than scrape the stats off their other stats screens and do some other calculations with them. Divide mvp points by matches won to get average skill level beat, that kind of stuff.

Posted - 11/12/2008 : 1:10:21 PM well phil maybe not now, but if we asked the right people we might be able to get that software updated. it doesnt seem like it would be a difficult thing to do. the technology is there. like i said it would be good info to know. and torsten, that is a good idea but you only get one 8ball or 9ball snap per season. so that really doesnt work. and as for the spread sheet busness that is a whole lot of work for something that is already done and it doesnt help me with someone not on my team.

Posted - 11/05/2008 : 08:27:54 AM But not impossible to track, Ed. Count your patches. That's how many runs, on the snaps, racklesses you have. If you're a bit more ambitious, keep an excel spreadsheet and update it after you play. I personally know of two players who have a template in the computer that they keep updated. Maybe if you ask them nicely, they'll share it with you.
I think the worst time to have a heart attack would be during a game of charades... or during a game of fake heart attack. |
