Posted - 04/24/2009 : 10:47:00 PM I would like to quickly thank Bobby Gilmore and Gianfranco Lisi for their sportsmanship on Tuesday night. Knowing that most of their team pretty much quit and wouldn't be there, they still showed up to compete. Bobby told me, "It's not fair to the other team who wants to play to have nobody on the other team show up." Paraphrased anyway.
Props to you guys. You're a credit to the APA in my opinion.
And if you're wondering, both Bobby and Gian competed hard and won their matches. While I obviously was cheering for my players to win, I can't help but be glad for you guys for showing up despite the obvious detriment of having nobody else with you, and competing like the match was for the final spot in regionals and prevailing. So, as the title block of this post says, kudos.
I think the worst time to have a heart attack would be during a game of charades... or during a game of fake heart attack.
