Posted - 09/10/2009 : 10:40:17 AM I was wondering if the APA has had any discussion of the use of phenolic tips. BCA and most professional tours have instituted a "NO Phenolic Tip Rule" due to the amount of cue ball damage that they seem to be causing according to Aramith & Simonis.
Phil &/or Taz .... can you give us any insight on this situation within APA?
I'm not sure how many players within APA use them, but I do and I'm changing them because of the BCA leagues that I also play in.
Thanks.

Posted - 09/10/2009 : 11:52:36 AM Good question! I have a phenolic tip on my break cue as well but have no plans to change it since I do not play BCA leagues.
I would like to know if the APA had considered doing anything. I personally would think it might prove to be a nightmare to enforce such a rule in regular league play.
Many people don't even know what a phenolic tip is much less are able to recognize one when they see it.
