After carefull review evidence shows both feet were not done on the Pitts Touchdown!!!
Was there a conspiracy ?????? Think of the Personal foul calls that kept Pits Dive alive in the 4th Qtr.
Also most Penalty yards called against a team in a SUPERBOWL EVER!
LET THE REPLIES BEGIN!!!!! LOL
I will post a image of the proof to follow!

Posted - 02/06/2009 : 09:07:13 AM I am sorry Tom, but I am with Phil on this one. The Cardinal player in question actually turns his shoulders and the Steeler player pushes him in the back because of it. Had the Cardinal player not turned he would have been hit in the chest/shoulder. The Steeler player was running down the field and the Cardinal player was coming in from the side. There is no way that would ever be called a block in the back. |

That steeler difinitely hit the cardinal from the rear, shoving him face first into the ground so hard that 92 almost had to jump over him to get to the end zone.....that should have been a call and the play should have been called back ending the half!
Of course if I were a steeler fan I would see it your way too. he he as did the Presidentially appointed refs!

Obviously we're watching different videos, or perhaps you have forgotten that the face side of the helmet is the side with the bars on it.
Here, try this video. Click "Watch in high quality" just below the video, then click the full-screen icon. The Arizona player is #34, Hightower. Pause the video when Hightower reaches the Arizona 35. Any informed fan can tell you without watching the rest of the video that this is going to be a legal block. At this point, even if Hightower turns his back (which he doesn't, Woodley gets him right on the side of the shoulder pad), it would not be an illegal block.

If you look at that play closely, you will see one of the Cardinals coming up to make the stop on Steeler #92 at about the 30 yard line when Steeler #56 comes flying in from the rear and levels the Cardinal to prevent the tackle. The ref's and the announcers all total ignore that obvious foul on the Steelers.

#56 (Woodley) blocks the same guy twice, and never touches the back of his jersey. No wonder the refs and announcers ignored it, it was 100% legal.
By the way, watch the video again, and you will see two other things. First, one of the Steelers actually gets hit in the back by an Arizona player. Second, Fitzgerald goes out of bounds at the 40 and continues to run out of bounds for the remainder of the play. He doesn't even come back in bounds to make the tackle, just dives from the sideline.

PROOF
Proof of what? That his feet came off the ground after he caught the ball? I can show you a photo where neither foot is touching the ground, does that prove that Santonio Holmes can fly?

I think you're talking about the third quarter drive that ended in a field goal. There was only one penalty on the last drive, and it was a holding call against the Steelers on the first play. Good teams manage to overcome those things.
Regarding the penalties on the third quarter drive, they were all legit, and if you disagree you can have the three points back. Same result.

Let me rephrase that - most fouls committed by a Super Bowl team EVER.
Do me a favor - re-watch the game, but focus on #92 of the Steelers when the Cards have the ball. Count the number of times he is held with no penalty...
Ya gotta bring more than that, D-RACK.

Posted - 02/05/2009 : 1:19:40 PM What were the Steelers like 9 and 6 for the season barely squeeked into the playoffs as the last wild card team, and the teams in the playoffs were like totally lame and rolled over for them. If they played in the NFC with the rest of the big boys they would never have been in the playoffs. I am suprised that a team with the lowest ranked offense and with no skill players at all, with a defence that could not stop a high school J.V. team even made it to the Super bowl let alone play in one of the best ever. Go figure.
Sorry Phil I could not resist. |

Posted - 02/05/2009 : 12:35:55 PM Derrick, you need to get over it! The Sixburgh Steelers are champs once again. Like any pool match, it's the ebb & flows that make it interesting.
BTW: Hope you're well...next time I'm in Camarillo, I'll look you up. Take care Victor |
