There has been some discussion regarding the requirements for eligibility for the upcoming regionals.

Team Elite qualified for regionals in the last session. We have changed our team since, and some of us are not shooting in APA at all. We are fully aware that each member has to have a certain number of matches within the year to be eligible for regionals. The questions I have are:

1) How many 9-ball matches does each member has to have within the year of the regionals to compete?

2) What constitutes the start of the year? January 1? The first day of the session qualified? The first day of the following session?

3) Do those matches have to be within the same region, or can they be any APA 9-ball matches? Do they have to be with the same team?

4) Do members of the team competing in regionals have to be on that SAME TEAM the session leading up to the regionals (this upcoming session), in order to compete, even if the team qualified two sessions prior?

I apologize if these are topics that have been covered once, or many times, before, but I have found three different answers to most of them, when asking around. So, I figured it best to post this up here and see if we can get a clear answer to refer to.

Thank you, in advance, for your help!

Just to clarify, the Local Bylaws supersede what's in the team manual regarding how a team qualifies. Make sure you read that too. You can find the bylaws at this link:

Wow! Thanks for posting this. I was reading through the Manual, and there is alot of interesting information on how a team qualifies and more importantly, "keeps their qualification" for Regionals.

Thank you for your prompt responses. I have read through the pages noted, and feel as though I have a pretty good grasp on the rules. I will speak with the team when I get out of this horrible blizzard in Madison, WI, and make it back to the left coast where I belong!

Garrett, if after reviewing the team manual you still have questions (not uncommon) please give me a call and I'll be happy to answer those questions for you.....but, make sure you read the team manual first, otherwise, I might not

The best place to get the answers to those questions is in the Team Manual. You can find it here:

The section on higher level tournament eligibility begins around page 80.
