One word describes the Captain/Co-captain tournament held this past Sunday at The Mix - HUGE. We had 62 players in the 8-Ball tournament and 49 in the 9-Ball tournament, so many that we could only run single-elimination! I was worried for a while, since I only brought brackets big enough for 64 players!

Congratulations to the winners! Jerry Lin from the Sunday DJ division won the 8-Ball tournament with a victory over Jeremy Anderson (Valley DJ) in the finals. Jerry must have been tired from all the matches he had to play (12 total) though, because he was taken down in the 9-Ball finals by Joel Quilantang (Oxnard Wednesday).

Everyone seemed to have a good time, and they were all very happy to find out they didn't have to complete their scoresheets for once (no purple slips!). Overall, I'd say the event was a success!

Special thanks go to Diane Nampel, who helped draw the tournaments and get them started, and to Faye-Lee Chang, who worked the brackets most of the day. Thanks ladies!

Phil

Yeah, thanks Faye. My crown-molding is up! Sorry I missed you all, but Phil said if I wanted crown-molding I would have to do it myself and Doug volunteered to help me get it done that day. I got to use my 3rd year wedding anniversay gift (cordless 18V DeWalt reciprical saw!!!). After a few early boo-boos, it all came together. Now, a little wood filler, some sanding, a little caulk, some paint and voila, done! Now, don't tell Phil, but for my next project......
