Hi all,

If you'd like to check out a pro event...the San Diego Classic is just a month away and right down the coast!

March 10-14 at Viejas Casino in Alpine, CA. This is the WPBA's 14th year at Viejas...and we love kicking off our season at this wonderful event.

If any of you are thinking about attending, you should really try to make it there on Wednesday evening for the Charity Pro-Am...where you can partner with a top pro (think Jeanette, Allison, etc) in a team event for only $50...which goes to the Alpine Women's Charity. It's frantic, it's fun, and it's for a good cause.

If you want more info on the Pro-Am, please contact Sandra Barrett-Pfitzenreuter at sandra@viejasproduction.com.

If you need more info about the event itself...let me know and I will answer what I can!

Thanks!

Melissa

[br]Thanks Melissa ... I'll be sure to check in with you when I get there and say hello. I have to say it is really unfortunate that there are really no Pro Tour Events or Regional Tours here on the Left Coast much anymore.

Well...the San Diego Classic is West Coast...although not in the greater LA area.

As for Regional Tour events...I am working on starting a Regional Tour for women...and the first event is going to be in April. I'm still working on setting things up...but I will post more info very soon...so stay tuned! And special thanks to Southcoast APA's own John Quinones...who is very patiently working with me to create a website for the regional tour.

Information on the Regional Tour Championships? Sure!

The WPBA has a grassroots organization of regional tours across the US (and one in Taiwan) for amateur players who want competition with other female players...or who want to learn and grow and become a professional. I played on a regional tour here in So Cal back in 2000..and that started my path to becoming a pro...but that is a different story.

The Regional Tour Championships..which is being held at Hard Times this year...is the year-end culminating event for these RT's. Each RT gets to send their best players to compete...and the final 8 standing (actually it is the final 9 this year) will each earn invites to the WPBA pro events in 2010. So...if you come to the RTC...you have a chance to see some new players kick-off their pro career.

Unfortunately, So Cal has not had a regional tour in many years...so we won't be represented in the RTC (with the exception of some veteran players who are having to try and requalify for the WPBA tour based on their rankings. Players ranked 49-64 on the WPBA at the end of 2009 lost their pro status, but are also invited to the RTC to try and get it back). But there is plenty of talent from around the country...and my understanding is that the girl from Taiwan is an incredible player..and I am looking forward to seeing her play.

Anyone who loves pool..and especially women's pool...should come down and check it out (if it doesn't conflict with a Southcoast APA event of course). I think it is an exciting event..and I am positive that these girls will welcome some So Cal support. And since I will be running the tournament...you can give me your support as well

And now that I have reread your post...I realize that you were asking for times...but I'm too lazy to go erase everything. Play will start at 10 am each day.

Thanks!

Melissa

Hey Melissa ... thanks for the update ... had a great time down there last year and hope to make it again this year. Can you give me any information on the WPBA Regional event coming up at Hardtime Billiards in Bellflower on Feb 19-21st? Times etc. I'd like to go down for a few hours and see who the up and coming players in the California area are. Thanks.
