Sometimes you just have to be persistent. That's what Penny Spitzmesser found out October 3 in Bakersfield. An APA member since 2001, Pen has been active in the Singles Program for years, playing in qualifiers every chance she gets. She has been to Singles Regionals several times, but has stumbled and gone out in the early rounds nearly every time.

Not this time. This time Pen's persistence paid off. As the lone South Coast participant to make it through the Fall Regional, she is headed to Vegas next April to play in the National Singles Championship!

Next time you see Pen, congratulate her on her accomplishment, AND on her persistence!

Phil

No, the only qualifiers on the schedule right now are the last chance qualifiers on Thanksgiving weekend, and we haven't decided on locations for those. We could do some the second weekend of November too, if there's enough interest.

Did we have a Fall qualifier, that I missed?

Congrats to Penny Spitzmesser!

Those who have not competed in a singles regional may not appreciate this accomplishment. The competition is fierce at all levels.
Congratulations!!!
Richard
