At some point in the future, this site will probably go away. The national office is creating a platform where they will host all of the local APA league websites nationwide, and this site will likely be replaced by one of theirs.
I am on a committee to help plan and produce these sites. I would like to make sure the new sites give you more of what you want and less of what you don't want, so I need your help.
I would like you to list (in a reply to this post or in an email to me) the things you like best about this site. Please list more than one thing, and be as detailed as possible ("everything" doesn't help much). If there is something we don't provide that is important to you, list that as well. I will use your input to form my priority list of end-user features for the new sites.
Just so I don't get your comments jumbled up, please refrain at this time from listing things you don't like. We'll get to that in another post later
I thank everyone in advance for your participation in this exercise. With your help we can move forward to bigger and better things in the future!
Phil

The MVP list , it's a competition within a competition , my team is losing badly but I have something to play for on a personal level making each week a bit more interesting .
The discussion and rules forum is a great way to learn about the game and to make all the different divisions aware of each other .
I must admit that I'm a little concerned about the website going to National Office . Will the stats be posted as promptly as they are now ? Will there be a local discussion forum at all , and I mean local ? It's good that leagues that do not have a great website ( NYC sucks ) will now hopefully get a better one , but is it one step forward for them and two steps back for us ? |

In no particular order I like the division stats, individual stats, photos and message board. The ability to see stats as quickly as we do makes it much easier for me to manage teams ( I have 2 and play on a 3rd). Individual stats allows some insight on who may be shooting well for their skill level. Photos are always fun and get players involved. The message board is a communication tool and through that communication i learn things that I would not otherwise |

The web site is fine just like it is. That's it. How about they take your design, and feed it to the rest of the country, leaving the South Coast APA alone ? Things wont be the same.....bet on it! |

I like the fact that you don't have to download a PDF for everything on this site. I have surfed through a number of other APA and non APA sites and found PDFs everywhere (Stats, Schedule, Events, etc, etc). Blurgh! I like the Division stats page but would also like to see something that indicates Patches or number of Patch-able items (like multiple 9 ball breaks) see my other post in "Web Site Suggestions". I like the Photos, I use them to help remember who that one player was that I played three weeks ago... you know the guy, the one with the cue and the hat.
'S-all for now. Gotta run. |

Here here lyrad, keep it basic html code.
I hate sites that try to get all fancy and pages load like molasses. Particularly important when I'm browsing with my phone, I do that now and then when I'm out playing. It's nice to be able to pull up a page while I'm there at the game to check someone's stats before picking an opponent.

Speaking as a former capt, I would like to say, "that is a hell of an idea!!" I used to check the stats at work before a match, Never again for me. Thank you.

Another thought occurred to me as my Captain and I were discussing replacing a few departing members next season.
A system specifically for locating players and teams, as opposed to just a message board where it's hard to tell if the spots been filled and difficult to be sure if your message has even been seen, would be really nice.

I would like to see the date of the players last skill level change and also if it was up or down....like a little green arrow up or a littl red arrow for down......mm/dd/yyyy up to sl6 or mm/dd/yyyy down to sl5
It would also be nice if the members join date were attached to his profile....showing Member of APA since mm/dd/yyyy.
I would also like to win the Mega lottery this Wednesday and that is my 1st of these 3 wishes.

Hey Phil,
As a newbie to the Columbus APA I have to say the South Coast website is awesome. The APA has a website here but all you can see are schedules (no rosters) standings and top gun (your MVP). No pics, no message board, no birthdays. Everyone here is super nice but I have been spoiled.
Miss all you guys! Pat. |
