After you stuff yourselves with Turkey and fixin's tomorrow, and work it off fighting through crowds to get great deals on Friday, don't forget to come out to The Mix on Saturday or PJ's Pub on Sunday to get yourself qualified for a singles regional. This is your last chance to qualify this year!

That may depend on how many tiers we can fill this weekend. With a good turnout, four of our six tiers could fill up, meaning players in those four tiers would not have to play in a big regional. We could hold National Qualifiers at Butera's or PJ's. If that happens, we won't host a regional, so those in tiers that don't fill up would have to travel to a regional.
If we don't fill those tiers, we may volunteer to host a regional, in which case it most likely would be at The Mix. They have ten tables, far more than any other location.

???? are their going to be any qualifiers at local establishments or was this past weekend (the last chance) ps would like to have played but had family commitments....Did you have a good turnout?? thanks

The qualifying window for this year closed on Monday, so no, there will be no more qualifiers this year.
The turnout for the last chance qualifiers was quite disappointing, the lowest we've ever had since we started doing the Thanksgiving weekend qualifiers several years ago. It was consistent with the rest of the year though, as the numbers were low every time. I'm guessing the economy has had a lot to do with it.
The good news is that we did fill one tier, so we'll be sending at least one player to Nationals in April. We'll likely be sending more, since everyone in the other tiers will be playing in the Spring Regional in March.
