Are you talking about Ryan or another player?

The equalizer! Just because they lose 15-5 or worse, they may have shot well enough to make the equalizer change their SL.
If I disagree with you, it is because I am right. |

Or....
Maybe you misremember him as a 2.
He's never been a 2, at least not in 9-Ball. Started the session as a 3 after being converted from 8-Ball, where he spent four full sessions as a 4 before dropping to a 3 right at the end of Summer Session.

I'll attach to this thread as my question also involves Skill Level.
In 8-Ball I was a skill-level 2 all the way through the last week of last season. Week 1 of Playoffs my SL went to a 3.
I didn't play in the Playoffs, now the new season starts and my SL i snow a 2.
How does a SL go from a 3 to a 2 (Not that I'm complaining) without the player having played? |

Part of your rating is based on your opponents. It could also be that some of the matches from things like singles regionals qualifiers were entered in that week. Also some of my friends also have the thought that the rating system works on a curve. If that is possible then there could be too many threes and it kicked the lowest down to a two. I doubt the last one is what happened but anything is possible.

What's even more interesting, is now I go back and look at my rating is back up to a 3.
Either something changed today or the New Years hasn't warn off yet. LOL. |

I have found from experience that this whole topic is a lot like spitting into the wind....by that I mean....You should learn pretty much all you need to know by trying it once.
If you keep trying it after that first time, you deserve what you get out of the effort.

OR....
Maybe you were looking at your 9-Ball team when you saw the 2.

or (Phil would say) .... male players cannot play as 2 during play-offs ... male players must play as SL 3 and may go back to SL 2 during a regular season

It's higher-level tournaments, meaning South Coast Championships (regionals) or Nationals. Tournament of Champions is not a higher-level tournament, so we allow male 2's.

Isn't it no male 2s in 8 ball and no male 1s in 9 ball? For higher-level tournaments that is.
