Impressive. A spam bot that knows how many little pigs there were and can create a user account that requires clicking on a link in an email message. More likely a human who created the account, then fed the credentials and the answer to the security question to a bot that went through the member list and sent the spam. I got a "test" email in addition to the scam email, since I am at the top of the member list...
It's no more dangerous than any other message that finds its way into your inbox, though. Less dangerous, actually, because they don't get to see your email address UNLESS YOU REPLY TO THE MESSAGE.
I have locked the user account so they can't use it again. It won't prevent them from creating a different account with a different email address, so lets hope they don't return. If they do, I will have to turn off the email capability of the message board or switch to CAPTCHA security, which I detest.
