| You are correct. APA is not call pocket, it is pro-rules. One needs to apply "common sense" here. They use APA Rules with the "call pocket" exception. |

For those of you who are regulars to this tournament and to those of you who need to get out to Camarillo for this awesome tournament, on Tuesday, October 30, we are going to charge $20 for the tournament fee to help raise money for the Susan B. Komen Foundation. Two of our local breast cancer survivors will be walking for the fight against breast cancer in November. $10 of the $20 will go towards this cause.
Plenty of time for you all to plan to be there on Tuesday, October 30, at 7:30. This tournament runs very fast and is always done by 11pm at the latest.
Hope to see you all there!
And thank you Nat for running such an awesome tournament. You Rock!

Hope you are all making plans to be at the Lamplighter on Tuesday, October 30. I'm looking for some good pool shooters for that night. Al Whattaburger keeps winning, which of you will be the one to take him off the board??
Please come and give your support to help in the cure of breast cancer.
We will also be hosting a tournament on November 3, starting at 10am. Same rule format. This is also a tournament to help raise funds for breast cancer. So come on Oxnard, Ventura, Ojai, Port Hueneme, Thousand Oaks, EVEN you Valley people. Get on over and help us kick this disease!

Mr. Hunnicutt, how come you don't change the night of the tournament. Why do we have to break our plans!? Anyway, reason being, in the Thousand Oaks area, Tuesdays are one of the main nights of league play. Given the choice 99.9% of players figure to stay with their teams, but on other nights with no league-play obligation, I'm sure you'd increase your turnout for the tournament significantly.

Mr. Sporn, thank you for your advice. I agree with you that 99.9% of players stick with their teams on a league night, I know I do. As a former captain I understand the difficulty associated with running a team, it’s a full time gig. Unfortunately the amount of available “tournament” time we have in Camarillo is rather limited. As you know 3 of the 7 nights are already in use by us, as D mentioned. The obvious problems with running a tournament on Friday and Saturday night prevent that from happening. Leaving Tuesday and Sunday open for some pool play’n action!!! Running a tournament on Sunday is definitely a possibility for the near future. You have a lot of excellent players from your area and we are definitely ready for some exciting completion. The lamplighter will be hosting the 6th Annual Lamplighter Classic on an up coming Saturday. Please refer to Cabarkeep post for more information. Again, thank you for your comment, it has “lit a fire” under me to get the T.O area involved. Hope to see you down at the Lamplighter soon.

Thank you Mr. Hunnicutt! I look forward to participating in your Tuesday tournaments between sessions. Goodness knows, I spend the first couple weeks of every session needing a serious rustoleum bath.

I think the Thousand Oaks area is scared of the Camarillo players. Not all of them play on Tuesday night.
So here's the challenge...Ventura County show your stuff! Let's see which city outside of Camarillo can bring the most players on the October 30 tournament and also on the November 3rd tournament. The Lamplighter will match the funds that come in from the city (outside of Camarillo) that brings the biggest turn out. So what up T.O.? Think you can beat out Oxnard, Ventura or even Ojai??? I bet the valley people could even beat out the T.O. turnout.
Anyone up for the challenge???
See ya all at the Lamp!

Now that's a motivating posting. I'm with Torsten on the "can't make Tuesdays" because of league but I think you might get a few of us down there for the Saturday, Nov 03rd tourney.... Hope to see you then... (and you better make it D-Rack)...

Okay Thousand Oaks, let's take Nancy on her word and devote our funds plus what she matches and get on down to the Lamp on Saturday, Nov 3. And yes, Torsten it is a 10am start time. Being as you are young, strong and healthy, I'm sure you can weather the hangover and win some matches: I have complete confidence in you!
As for Derrick, Jack Murray and I will personally dismantle his WMD game and send him home crying!

Hey Torsten and Jack the only reason they hold a touramnet on Tuesday is because they are scared of the Talent that Thousand Oaks area is known for. After there event I think Borderline or PJ's should host a Chellege event.

Thank you to those of you who showed up last night. We have so far raised $200 towards saving the "tatas"!
Hope to see a full board (32) on Saturday. $25 gets you lunch, T-shirt, one raffle ticket and a chance at the trophy! We are still waiting on some promised donations to come in so we can figure how much $$ the winner will get.
Come on poolshooters! Let's save the TATA's!!
