A long time member of our APA family is going through a very difficult time (medically). The doctors are finally going to allow him to return home (after a lenghty stay at the hospital) but, in order to do so, he will need an oxygen concentrator. Unfortunately the cost to rent one is $200/month.
If anyone out there knows of a way to get a hold of one of these machines (used will do), please contact the league office.
They have some as low as a couple hundred dollars. If that is still too prohibitive, our friend should call the hospital where he was staying and ask for the Human Resources department. Hospitals update their equipment semi-frequently, and the HR department would have the receipts of what they do where they donate the old equipment (for tax write-off reasons).
And, oddly enough, I just looked on Ebay, and they have a couple on there. Good luck.
I think the worst time to have a heart attack would be during a game of charades... or during a game of fake heart attack.
