Is it legal to wear an iPod or some other headphone device during your match?
I can see reasons why this would hinder the match (i.e timeouts, called fouls, etc.) but sometimes the other team is just too loud and obnoxious for it to be fun.
I've seen players wearing foam earplugs on a couple of occasions and it seems that the same problems as the iPod would apply to the earplugs.

I can't speak for the APA, but it would be illegal in most other rule formats to wear a bluetooth headset. You could get illegal coaching that way. I'm quite sure those other rule systems would have no problem with iPod headphones, as they simply play music.

I believe this topic was address some time ago. (maybe even back before the new website/message board) .
If I remember correctly, Taz addressed this and stated that using ipods/headsets or the like was not allowed during league play.
When you think about it, the noise at the location is/could be a factor for both players. Making it an "even" level for both players. Being able to "tune it out" with the use of another device would be a slight advantage for one player.
Earplugs on the other hand, I see completely different. You don't have the music of your choosing piping into your ears to put you in a zone, for lack of a better word. Your simply decreasing the noise that will still exsist, not shutting it out completely (working at an airport, I assure you there is currently no earplugs on the market that completely wipe out sound). That would be like telling someone with a hearing aid that it has to be up at a certain level while league play is going on.
Just my thoughts, I'm sure Taz or Phil will correct me if I'm wrong, or comment furthur.

I was the one who originally posted an inquiry to Taz about MP3 players. Music head/ear sets are not allowed in any higher level tournament. It is ok during league nights though. Taz discourages this because you get used to having it on and when you play at a higher tournament and can't use the headset it may affect the way you play.
