Ok here we go!

I have 2 players on my 9 ball team

PLayer 1 (P1) SL 4 prior

Is 0-4 last week and the Season 0-5 played a SL 4 lost normal innings 12-8 is now 0-5 this year and got their skill level moved up to a 5????? WTF?

PLayer 2 (P2) SL 2 Prior

Is 1-4 last week and the Season 1-5 played a SL 1 (MALE) Got his ass kicked and was raised to a 3???? Again WTF

2 players one week both raised after losses? Combined record 1-9 LOL>>>>>>>>

Not looking for an explanation on the system i know it works it way out..... But the players are not new they both have played 20 matches +

Neither player plays on another 9 ball team >>>

And neither player did good last year!!!

( Sorry GUYS no Offense intended )

Sincerely Frustrated

No offense taken. I saw that last Friday and figured you'd find it odd. It happens to players sometimes, they lose and go up, but it doesn't often happen to two on the same team the same week. Guess you're just lucky!

Actually, you probably should have mentioned that both players had just gone down the previous week, and went back up after shooting decent losing scores.

It does happen. Personally, I was playing a match with Shane Couch a couple of years back in 9 ball. We were both playing well above our normal levels. Breeak and runs, zero inning frames, you name it. It just so happened I was the one to make the one mistake of the match and he finished it off. Beat me by three or four balls in very few innings. I lost but got promoted the next week. Justifiably so.

The real concern, in my opinion, is your interpretation of your players' abilities. Forget that they just got moved up. Look at the level they're at. Are they able to compete at that level? If you have a guy rated as a 5, and you honestly feel he shouldn't be there, then write up an evaluation form detailing why not. I know it can be frustrating when you don't understand why your players move up and it maybe causes you numbers problems. It's just a reality. Most players eventually improve, and you'll eventually run into a numbers problem on most teams.

I think the worst time to have a heart attack would be during a game of charades... or during a game of fake heart attack.

The question that I have on this concerns my dad. He blew out his knee and had to have surgery. He couldn't walk for about six months.I figured that he would go down to a 3 after a couple matches. I understand that he was a solid 4 when this started but now I am wondering how long it will take for him to go down to a 3 or a 2. He had one lucky win against a good 7 who had a bad night leaving balls in front of the pocket all night long. Other than that he has been beaten badly night in and night out. I actually played against a 2 that would have beaten him ball for ball without breaking a sweat. I know that in time he will be properly rated and that the 2 will go up to a 3. It is just frustrating some times to watch friends or family struggle while the system does its thing.

i realise that certain players have to be raised in their skill level ,but to have 2 raised at this period of the season has totally destroyed our chances of fielding a team to keep our position in league, surely it should be done at end or start of a season, also rockys revenge have a player who has been a 4 all seson and still is record is 9 to zero why hasnt he been raised ?????

Derrick started this thread with a question that was interesting, two players on one team went up after losing the same week. I answered it because it was interesting. My reply was basically "it happens, deal with it."

I don't want to start seeing posts here from everyone who has an issue with skill levels. If you have a problem with handicaps, address it through the proper channels (contact us directly). If you don't, you risk looking foolish when I point out that (1)the two guys who went up were both 3's who had previously been 4's and who both shot like 5's last week, and (2)"completely destroyed our chances of fielding a team" actually means your team can only field the following combinations:

4 4 4 4 7
4 4 4 4 6
4 4 4 4 5
4 4 4 5 5
4 4 4 5 6

Now, since there are four 4's and the last two combinations only use three of them, there are actually four different variations of each combination. So your team could actually field eleven different combinations of players. Hardly "totally destroyed".

The system works the way it works. Any player could go up or down following any match. The other guy you mention will be a 5 next week, but don't think you had anything to do with it. The monday night sheets were printed last night, and he's already a 5 there.
