Ok I really hope alot of APA member's read this.
Any way this is what happend at the regenals.
The team that I am on was winning on saterday to
make it to sunday for a chance to vegas.
and afte ther the match was over saterday I had
gone home and looked at the computer relizing that Taz and Phil
have raised 2 of are players higher whitch was no big deal.
but then we rememberd that at tournament of champions they raised
one of are guys and then when we won the 1400
we relised they raised 2 more.then we started to relize
they have been raising people who even get 12 points on are team.
then as we get to reginals we win the first match with Taz watching us the whole team because they want us to lose.and after we beat there faverit team they raised everyone on are team to SL5 6 7.
then we knew we were right.so we asked Taz why she said talk to phil.
so we did.
He said that we were cheating that are guys were pros and we stole from the tournament of champions and he was screaming as loud as possible cursing swearing telling are caption if i could i would take back the money your team stole from the apa and bannd you from the league.and we were like why we did not cheat and hes like no way is that lil ****er a 3 he is at least an 8 whitch is bs because if he was that good they should have raised him when he played in all the matches and then we go is this somthing to do with are nationality and taz replys yes.and so we go ok.and the funny thing is they gave this big speach about good sportsmen ship and 5 min after that speach he curses the whole team out saying we never did are best we cheated and cursed so and then he had said even if your team did go to vegas we would have never gave you the prize money.so we went back in and told the team we were going to play goodluck in vegas we forfit.
we did not work this hard to get treated like **** from people who never been to are home town and watch us play.and then they say we know your players are way better then they r because 9 out of 10 teams were watching u.as we started to think after thats funny.how can 9 out of 10 be watching us if they are all playing there matches as well.so with this happening and working so hard for nothing but disrespect and
unsportsmen like conduct by the league people aka taz and phile
we had told the board of apa already and we have told teams
and there will be a great amount of less teams in the apa and alot more were ever taz and phile do not go.whitch is were honist people and respectful juges are.so this is a true story if this is the kind of league you guys and girls like then stay but if your new get out fast.go to bca or somthing were u get money right away.instead of paying everyday.everyone may your aim be true.

Local Team Championship Rules (as posted on the web site)
11. SKILL LEVELS - The APA is the sole judge of a player's ability, and may at any time raise a player's skill level if the APA believes he/she is not playing up to his/her true ability. It is especially important the skill levels at which you participate in this event reflects your true ability according to National Rules and standards. This is your responsibility. You are advised by the APA to make certain you and your teammates fully understand and conscientiously follow all of the National Rules and standards. If you determine you or one of your teammates skill level is not accurate, then you must notify your League Operator or Tournament Director prior to entering and playing in the event. Doing so will not necessarily prevent your disqualification; it will, however, help in determining your eligibility status.

FOR THE RECORD - No amount of practice will increase a skill level 3 player's ability to the point where they will shoot skill level 7 & 8 scores. All Team Captains had sign and turn in a Team Registration Form acknowledging responsability for knowing and understanding all Upper Level Tournament Rules.

Ok First things first..... I have been in the league 14 years and have known them personally for 10. This thread is gonna see some responses....

jumpcue1 - I understand that its emotional and it looks like you typed out your thread and posted it without really reading it.....but thats beside the point....

As the Captain of a team if you have a 3 I understand that on a great day should be a 4 in higher level tournaments even rise above 4 and be a 5 for certain shots . But to say that a 3 can break run 7 balls or 8 with shape poise accuracy in multiple racks is a little tough to believe that (3) can do that. Hardest thing for a captain to do is voluntarily raise there ace in the hole before TOC. Dosn't mean they are gonna go up...just protects you as a captain of the team.

Second - If Taz was watching you the whole time it was not cause she wants you to lose
It is her "job" that what the APA is a business. Not something they just throw together. I personally know that Taz and Phils Favorite team is any team that plays they don't, cant , and wont play favorites.... If they did you would see the same teams going to vegas every year....and attacking their integrity of the business is wrong "In my humble opinion" This is just my opinion.

Third - "The Sportsmanship Issue" That is for the 8 people on both rosters not PHIL he is running a business he is in charge "Sorry Taz i know u are the boss"lol but Phil is the owner and if he gets heated cause you stole money as you say he said then that is his right as the owner of a company...just as if a McDonalds employee took cash from a register...

But my understanding is he said if he could take back the money...So you did get paid? I hope that your team didn't all suffer cause 3 people, but i have a saying...

"We come as team, Win as team, Lose as a Team"

Sportsmanship is between the players.....

Final thought..........New members to the APA

This is my personal opinion so if you want to comment back or be mad then so be it.....
My rosters three nights a week in Camarillo IS 99% Family even the 1% i still like a lot.

My wife Father Sisters and Brothers friends I brought them into the leauge because of the integrity of the APA (Taz - Phil) I have Made over 500 friends in 3 different states... I can not walk the hall of the Southwest Challenge and see 20-30 friendly face that i have meet played beaten or lost too....... So please don't let one opinion be the sole dession to leave the APA. If you need a team and want to start one i will be more then willing to help you get the ball rolling.....and with some luck we will pocket it!! LOL (A little pool humor) I am already unfortunately 7 so i cant go up and don't have to worry lol...

I was watching the Lakers so I can't say i was there but i would like to know the name of the team and division. My own curiosity, I posted my name i have nothing to hide. Like I said this is my OPINON if you don't like it KMA (aka Kiss My Ass)

Count 'em, folks. Three rounds of play (2 in TOC and one in the South Coast Championships), and FIVE skill levels went up. No big deal?

Taz didn't watch more than half a dozen shots the entire round. Phil, however, was paying close attention to every match. That's my job. When you're up five skill levels after three rounds of play, you deserve some attention.

What I saw both amazed and infuriated me. I watched a player, who had been a 3 just two weeks prior at the TOC and was now a 5, play run-out 9-Ball. I don't think I could beat him, and I'm an 8. During his match Taz walked up and watched three or four shots, and suddenly he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. As soon as she walked away, he resumed his run-out game. He won the match easily, 16-4, posting an 8-level score in the process.

I had a third party watch the remaining 3 on this team and I walked away. Unaware that he was being watched, this player proceeded to win easily and finish the round for his team in just four matches. Up five skill levels in three rounds, and they didn't even need the fifth match. The third party's evaluation of the fourth player? Solid 5...

And now, the rest of the story. Taz's reply was more than a simple 'yes', it was a full statement clearly demonstrating that it was ludicrous to even suggest that this had anything to do with race. If you didn't get the sarcasm dripping from that statement, there's something wrong with you.

As for Phil yelling and swearing, well, that DID happen. I tend to get that way when it becomes clear that a team has been working the system and stealing prize money from the honest players and teams in our league.

Now that's just not true. At this point the team was up 8 (E-I-G-H-T) skill levels from the beginning of the TOC, and I wasn't sure even then that they were as high as they needed to be. Yet, had they played the matches and won, they would have gotten what every team gets who qualifies for the National Team Championships.

The only thing this team "worked hard" at was making sure their skill levels didn't go up. They got away with it for longer than they should have. This last paragraph says it all - they worked hard to get the money. If that's what you're looking for, then by all means, get out. If you think the challenge in this league is to do just enough to win and no more, and you don't think that's cheating, then by all means, get out. If you want to play in a league where sandbaggers get respect without consequence, then by all means, get out.

That's not what we're about. We're about having fun and giving an honest effort all the time. Had this team done that, there would have been no problem, except that they would have been unable to meet the 23 rule by the middle of Spring Session.

We take great offense to anyone who questions our honesty or our integrity. We don't have "favorite" teams - anyone who gives an honest effort and displays good sportsmanship is just fine with us. We hold these teams up as examples for everyone, yet when it's time to make a call they get no preferential treatment. We've been running this league for fifteen years, and not once have we ever failed to deliver on our promises. Those promises include doing everything we can to protect the integrity of the handicap system. It's not always pleasant, but we do what we have to do.

One final point, to anyone reading this. Go back and read the initial post in its entirety. NOT ONCE does jumpcue1 even hint that his players could not compete at their higher skill levels. Up 8 (E-I-G-H-T) skill levels in four rounds of play, and you want to question OUR integrity?

I don't want a long, drawn-out thread on this topic, so I'm going to lock it after I post this response. I'm not deleting the topic though, because I want people to see what happens when you play at skill levels that are well below your true ability.

Phil
