Thursday night! As a visiting team to the Arena we do not have a choice of table to play on. And it seems to be the visitors that are complaining. And come January that will be me. I quit playing in Camarillo because of Outlaws and their extreme volume levels. We actually had to leave the bar to take a timeout so we could hear each other. The tables by the restrooms are fine to play on, this is where I played when I was on an Arena team. So Phil, is there any way to encourage the home teams to play on these tables during loud events? There is, ask them. I don't know if the Thursday team will be playing on Thursday in the Spring, but if they are and you're there, ask them.
The captain I spoke with was a VISITING captain. I don't think it's just the home teams.
The other way to do it would be to have the Arena designate those tables as the league tables. They can do that.

Phil while I doubt they have a button to "cook this good" if you dont think they treat people differently, just go to a restaurant that a friend waits tables at. they will be over to your table more, the food will be better (probably bigger portion) because your friend will talk to the cook. it will come out faster. If a manager is tending the bar and sees you and me standing there waiting to order, which one do you think will get served first. If he has a brain in his head it will be you. That is just good business. He SHOULD have more interest in your satisfaction. Common sense. Employees, even if not directly told, will do the same if they know you are important to the business. Its just the way it is. Truthfully I really just dont like the place. Never really have. Now I guess I am just spoiled by how good the tables and service is at Butera's billiards. Aside from not having a "full kitchen" they will ALWAYS be my first choice as a place to play pool. Oh and by the way I do order food there anyway.
seems my whole life is underfunded and overrated. |

Actually, the ones with a brain will serve YOU first. I am not their customer. My customers are their customers.
Concerning choices, people (teams) make different choices for different reasons. Those who choose the Arena as their home location have their reasons. Nobody is in any danger there, so if a team makes that choice we will respect it.

yes phil they have their reasons. their reasons are because the arena pays for their team to play. so they are attracting the players who dont want to spend money. smart huh? and phil it is not me who is their customer. at least not any more. i am most certainly not their customer.

Ed, are those reasons any less legitimate than your reasons for choosing Butera's?

no it is a good reason for picking that spot, especially if you dont have any spare money to spend on pool. which is my point. they are attracting people who dont spend money, the very thing they are complaining about, from what you infer. I actually thought about playing out of there for that very reason, plus the fact that they have comfortable seating, however the things I spoke of earlier deterred me from that decision. If they stopped the practice of sponsoring the teams and focused more on the satisfaction and enjoyment of the teams players, (like Sal does) they might attract a more profitable crowd.
How can people make their favorite pastime so stressful? |
