In reading the APA manual recently I noticed the super format. It has a max of 30 points rather than 23. The only thing is you can only play two sl 7s on any given night. I wanted to bring this up a while ago but forgot. I guess what I am getting at is if there is any interest out there can we start one up. To me this seems like a mix of the normal and masters formats. Allowing higher level players to gather on one team and play the apa format we have all come to love.

If you are interested in this please post to show support. Remember this seems to be a mid to high sl dominated format.

How about this for a line up 7, 7, 6, 6, 4

Hey I was just told that we are supposed to make the balls in the pockets. That makes a big difference.

This is pretty incredible, Keith. You were reading the Team Manual recently???

We would be happy to run a Super 30 division, with a couple of caveats. First, it would have to be on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday so as not to interfere with the divisions we already have on the other nights of the week. Second, it would only be available to players who also play in our regular (23 rule) divisions.

Keep in mind that skill levels 6 and 7 represent only 15.71% of our 8-Ball league. In the Thousand Oaks / Simi Valley area, we have 41 6's or 7's in 8-Ball, so if you got them all to play and spread them out four to a team (filling the rosters with lower-rated players), you could actually create a ten-team division. Realistically, you're probably looking at four or five teams.

Would it be available to those like myself who are only playing 9 ball currently or would each member have to be on an active team. The reason I ask this is because it would be cool to see some established 8 ball players who have fallen off the map come back. Also since there are no higher level tournaments for this format. Is it possible to have the money that would go towards T.O.C. go the the winner of the division or a playoff. This could create a little more incentive to those sitting on the fence and get them to join.

For the record I read the manual or at least a section or two every once in a while. This is because people ask me questions about rules and to watch for double hits.
